At one point, Paul is almost forced to reveal the secrets behind the research initiatives at T.E.I., a secret so powerful that even Paul is afraid of the answers it may finally provide. The 50-year trip to the new world, Refander, is fraught with many perils and mysteries. Foremost among these is the mysterious derelict ship encountered by a previous Launch crew: an encounter that threatens the security of Earth and jeopardizes the 20th New World Launch.
On Refander, Paul's grandson, Ian, continues exploring the secret of the snow leopard, but in a totally new and harsh environment. However, when the sanctity of their new homeland is threatened by an alien race, one man, one woman, and one great cat hold the key to humanity's survival.
